Ron Judy

Ronald Joseph "Ron" Judy 7/22/48-1/18/24

Ronald (Ron) Joseph Judy, 75, passed away on January 18, 2024, in Seattle, Washington. He was born July 22, 1948, in Seattle, WA, to Leon and Margaret (Peg) Judy, and spent his childhood in Burien.  Ron attended the University of Washington, earning a BA in Business (Class of 1974) and continued his studies at the University of Chicago, earning an MBA (Class of 1976). Ron continued to call Seattle home throughout his life, splitting time between the Northwest and San Diego.

In his own words, Ron never worked a day in his life unless you got him talking about working construction with his dad or the time he spent in Alaska building the pipeline as a young man.

Once he found his passion for finance and business, he worked for Chase Bank, started a trucking company, and ventured into the video game industry, co-founding Nintendo of America. Even in retirement, he maintained his love for the art and science of deal making and would always speak with energy and enthusiasm if you asked him about one of the new ventures or strategies that he was pursuing.

Horses were another one of Ron's life passions. He acquired his first riding horses in his early 20s, and quickly moved on to owning racehorses. Under the banner of Three Sisters Stables, he ran his horses at many tracks including Longacres, Del Mar, and Emerald Downs.

Most importantly, Ron had a big heart! During his lifetime, he gave generously to many causes, including United Cerebral Palsy San Diego, American Cancer Society, multiple health and research organizations, and numerous community causes in both Seattle and San Diego. No organization was too big or too small to receive his kindness and generosity.

Ron is survived by his three daughters and their families, Tamara Jarosek (Brent Jarosek and daughters Isabelle and Aubrey Jarosek) of Seattle, Sarah Judy (Anders Loven-Holt) of San Francisco, and Stephanie Judy of San Diego.

Sadness - lost someone like Ron!  Our class has so many wonderful humans - Ron is one of them!.  Hanging out with Ron back in HS days, I couldn't imagine where his journey would take him.  Sadly after HS we all went on our own journeys and lost contact with many HS friends.  Glad to have spent just a little time with him in this life.

I hadn't seen Ron after High School till after I was out of the service when we ran into each other ar Longacres and I was getting ready to have first surgery on my back. I was really apprehensive at the time and Ron told me they fused horses all the time with 3 out of four cases successfully. and that they were far ahead of that in humans. Thanks to his knowledge, and even walking me down to see a horse that was running that day, that had been spinal fused couple months earlier I got the surgery done. Never got to thank him for his knowledge and advice as that was the last time I ever saw him. He was a very good man, wanting the best for everyone. May he rest in peace in Gods hands.
