After graduating from Highline, I graduated from UW majoring in Education. I taught at Meadowdale High School for 4 years. In February, 1973, I was introduced to my husband on a blind date set up by Leah Dickinson (Craig). We were married in June of 1973 and moved to Olympia where we each found teaching jobs. I taught at Olympia High School for 34 years. I retired after 38 years in the classroom in 2008. We have 3 children and 8 grandchildren. Our passion is travel. While teaching I organized about 15 trips to Europe with students. We are now organizing adult trips and took a group in September 2015 to Barcelona, Southern France, and the Italian Riviera. Next September we will take a group to Oktoberfest in Germany as well as spending time in Switzerland, Austria, and Italy. Join us!!! We spend our winters in Goodyear, AZ, in Pebble Creek! Life continues to be a fun journey.

For those of us who knew Bob from our St. Francis days, we remember a very serious, smart guy.  We were all very fortunate to receive an extra special gift a few years back when he treated all of us from the St. Francis Class of '62 to an Alaskan cruise.  It was such a very special time of re-connecting with lifelong friends.  He and his wife Susie were very gracious and generous.  Rest in peace, old friend.

I was so sad to hear of Florence's passing.  Her Italian family and mine go way back.  She was the oldest of seven children.  Although we went to different elementary schools, we received First Communion and Confirmation together at St. Francis.  We always had our pictures taken together.  The last I saw her was at a family wedding a couple years ago.  She looked great and was doing well.  We chatted for quite a while.  I  encouraged her to come to our reunion but she didn't make it.  She was so intelligent, kind, and a rock in her family.  She lived with her mother right till the end.  She will be so missed.  RIP old friend!  Patty Yellam Barber
