It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of one of the great ones. Sue — Suebear, Susie, Susan, Mom, Nana — left us on January 19, 2026.

Susan Kay (Lehnherr) Holmes was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on January 31, 1948. She leaves behind her husband of 54 years, Robert Holmes; her daughters, Leslie Gilbert and Carrie Holmes; her son in law, Mark Gilbert; and her three beloved grandchildren, Cole and Trey Gilbert and Katherine Holmes.

Sue was cherished for her feisty spirit, her competitive spark, her love of tennis, her openness to adventure in the outdoors, and her unwavering devotion to family, friends, the Pony (dance), and chocolate. She lived with joy, humor, and a passion that made every moment brighter.

We invite you to join us in celebrating her life on what would have been her 78th birthday. A gathering will be held at the Bellevue Club Hotel Ballroom on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 2:00–4:00pm. We would love to hear your favorite Sue story — and we know there are many.

In honor of Sue’s adventurous spirit, the family asks that instead of a formal donation, you step outside and enjoy nature. If you feel moved, please share a photo of the adventure you experienced in her memory.
