Christine Elizabeth (Day) Leonard 4/28/48-3/11/23
Christine Elizabeth Day Leonard, born April of 1948 in Pasadena, California, was the daughter of Jack and Elizabeth (Reed) Day. Chris passed away on Saturday, March 11th at the age of 74.
She is survived by her two sons: Sam Leonard of West Seattle, WA (wife Rachel and son Oliver) and Mitchell Leonard of Federal Way, WA (fiance Jessica); as well as her niece Beth Day (husband Matthew and sons Ambrose and William) and nephew Patrick Day (wife Heather, son Branch, and daughters Eila and Zia) and her brothers Greg Day (wife Linda) and John Day (wife Sharon).
Graduating from the University of Washington, she went on to work for Boeing Computer Services. She retired after 35 years of service as Senior Manager in Computing Infrastructure at the Boeing Company. She later returned to the University of Washington, driven by a passion for storytelling and family history, earning a degree in Genealogy.
As the daughter of a military family, she lived in many places in her youth, including Alaska as it became a state, Germany and Japan. As an adult this developed into a love for travel, from simple drives across the state to an exotic adventure in Ireland with her father and sons hunting family history.
She was loving and inviting in a way that extended beyond the bounds of her own household - every neighbor welcome, every person valued. She had a joyful mischief about her that kept her family filled with laughter. Her impact lives on in all of the people she touched and she will be sorely missed. https://obituaries.seattletimes.com/obituary/christine-leonard-1087481513
