Cheryl Sibley Anderson 10/4/47-2/9/23

Cheryl Sibley Anderson, 75, passed away in Tacoma on February 9th, 2023.

"Cheryl," writes her daughter, Athena Wililau Gray, "was a bright light in the lives of so many. From Bruce, her mailman, to her neighbors, to her dog rescue friends, to her close friends and family. Cheryl was a champion of the underdog. She gave her professional life to helping developmentally disabled youth and her personal life to rescuing unwanted dogs. Cheryl made a positive difference in this world—and was very humble about it. She was a quirky, eccentric, authentic, and caring person. I am very blessed to call Cheryl my mom."

She was a dear lady back in high school. I am sure she will be surely missed by all who have been her most recent friends.

So sorry to hear about Cheryl.  A great friend who I continued to communicate with through out the years.  I remember at Lake Burien elementary school, during square dancing, I would race the boys to dance with Cheryl.  Rest in Peace Cheryl.

Cheryl was a special  friend.  Throughout Jr. & Sr. High we were really close and shared a miriad of memories,  including summers at our lake cabin, Target dances, and missing the school bus but Barney the butcher from Wright's Grocery would give us a ride and gett us to school on time. Cheryl's Dad bought the first Mustang from Southgate Ford -oh such fun driving it all around the south end.                                                                              After high school we lost contact but reconnected just before the HHS 50 Reunion.  Since then we regularly saw each other and reminisced about the good old days and friends we knew.  We had so many laughs.  One of Cheryl's fondiest memories was John Harvey square dancing with her.  I MISS MY DEAR FRIEND EVERY DAY!!

I remember Cheryl being a warm hearted person in high school. She always had a warm smile for everyone. She and I connected in 2015 on Facebook messager. We discussed many spiritual issues as well as other subjects.  Cheryl was a caring, kind person. She was committed to rescue dogs in need. Was always concerned for people who needed help.  Cheryl will be missed.

Sorry to hear about Cheryl, Sibley's were neighbors Cheryl and I being the same age and Joanee was same age as my sister. My fondest memory of her was when they both practiced there kissing on me when we were very young. She helped me convince my Mom to let me get my first dog.
