Steve Roswold

Steve Roswold

Steven A. "Steve" Roswold (1947-2016)

Steve passed away November 22, 2016 in Sequim. He was born to Bertram and Betty Jean (McCoy) Roswold on October 4, 1947, in Redwood City, California. He graduated from Highline High School in Burien, Washington, in 1966 and attended the School of Architecture at the University of Washington from 1966-1970.

His career was spent under the employ of several international commercial truck companies including Isuzu, Western Star and Hino International. He was a leader in the effort to reduce diesel emissions from our environment by designing fuel-efficient commercial trucks.

Steve loved to fish anywhere, anytime. He was a "car enthusiast extraordinaire" and loved the process of researching, selecting, renovating and driving vehicles. Rarely would he remember your name, but he always knew what car you drove.

Every home he owned he made more beautiful. He loved gardening, interior design and landscaping.

He was a quiet, thoughtful and happy man with a smile that would light up a room and twinkling blue eyes that saw beauty everywhere. He loved all animals and nature. He was kind and genuinely interested in those he called "friend." He is forever a sweet man.

Steve is survived by his loving and loyal brother, Jim, as well as sister-in-law Susan Roswold and his two nephews, Leif and Luke Roswold. He loved Emily Kearney of Santa Rosa, California, and considered her a daughter. He will be forever loved by Marianne's family: Jerrold and Dolores Jacobberger, Tom and Rita Sullivan, Michael and Cindy Sullivan, Charles and Susan Anderson, John and Stacy Gallagher, and all their children and grandchildren.

Steve is remembered with love and affection from Jocelyn Trueblood and her family. He so appreciated all his friends in both Port Angeles and the Grass Valley, California, areas.

I just opened up our website to see the new memory page and was certainly set back to see Steve's name listed.  It is hard to see others names on list and knowing I ddin't even know them.  When you attend all 12 years of school in Highline district; well I guest I thought back then that I should have known everyone - youthful thoughts I guess.

As for my long ago friend, well that takes me back to the great memories I have of Steve.  He was class act and a fun person to hang out with.  We left Highline and we headed out to start our new lives, some stayed close others went their way and left the area (like me) and many ended up moving all over this country due to military duty.  I am sorry that I missed out on so many of my classmates lives - Steve would be one of those I now wish I had been able to keep in touch with.  Thankful we have a website and Facebook now to help us get caught up on what the past 53 yrs has bought us.  May the Divine bring us peace and the understanding that the body my die, but the soul lives on.  Steve's body might be gone, but his spirit lives on.  Steve - thanks for those times we spent together so many years ago. RIP

it is so sad to hear about classmates leaving this earth, too soon for us all.  I knew Steve a little bit, and I remember I liked him as he was kind and funny.  We only knew each other thru classes or school events.  He had a great smile!  RIP.
