Enlisted in the Navy Reserves in 1967, did 2 years active duty serving in Japan and Vietnam. Married Susan Baetke in June of 1971. One child, girl, born in May 1973; bicycle mechanic and sales; automotive shop equipment service and installation for 8 years; sold heat transfer equipment; drove bus for Metro Transit for 15 years; drove semi's for another 8 years, started a contracting company building new homes until the market collapsed, then went back to driving in 2009. Published my first book in September 2015, and continue to drive truck. God is good. Life is good.

The military generally and Vietnam specifically were so unpopular that it took until Reagan to openly admit that I had been there. I was fortunate in that I was not in a combat role, but in a support role. Many were not so fortunate.
